Our farm

My journey into flower farming evolved from a profound love of flowers and designing many urban gardens. Leaving behind the city that was home for over 20 years, the transition to the Worcestershire countryside was like stepping onto a vast canvas and enabled a new venture – a flower farm.

Ombersley's soil tells a story of rich agricultural heritage; over 140 years ago our field was part of a thriving fruit tree and market garden farm. The rich, fertile soil provides an ideal foundation for cultivating a stunning array of flowers. It's a place where the earth, seasoned by generations of farming, imparts a unique vigour to the blooms that grace the fields. The idea that we are reawakening the earth to grow beautiful British blooms resonates deeply.

There's an inherent charm in the ever-changing beauty of seasonal blooms. Each one is a unique expression of nature's artistry, and I revel in the joy of witnessing the varied textures and forms that grace our field throughout the year. The ever-shifting tapestry of seasons, and the intricate dance of form and texture that each bloom unfurls is always inspiring.

Our commitment to sustainability is a reflection of the genuine care we have for the land. British blooms are nurtured here with a simple yet profound approach, respecting the natural balance. It's not just about growing flowers sustainably; it's about cultivating a relationship with the land.

I hope you can join me in celebrating the beauty of flowers and the natural beauty that unfolds with each passing season.

Our flowers

Ombersley Flower Farm is not just a static landscape but an ever-changing palette that moves in harmony with the seasons. Each bloom, from the first delicate daffodil to the final dahlia, adds a unique stroke to this living canvas.

Each season brings a new cast of characters, and the flower farm becomes a story told in colour, form, texture and fragrance – a story that unfolds with the changing seasons in this idyllic corner of Worcestershire.

Spring blooms are the first to appear; narcissi stand tall, and tulips unfurl in a kaleidoscope of colours for the new season. With the arrival of early summer, camassias sway gently in the breeze, alliums like fireworks frozen in time, burst forth and fritillaries add a touch of whimsy, their nodding bells creating a natural carousel in our field.

A riot of summer colours follow; a vibrant tapestry where roses and hydrangeas take centre stage. It's the season where the air is perfumed with the heady scent of blooming flowers.

As summer bids farewell, the dahlias step into the spotlight for autumn's grand finale. Their intricate forms and a palette spanning fiery oranges to deep burgundies creates a breathtaking display. The fields, once a canvas of vibrant summer hues, transform into a rich tapestry of autumnal elegance.

Reviews

Jo's flowers are fabulous and the farm itself is an absolute dream. The way Jo plans her flower selection and seasons are so sophisticated, with the most perfect tones and tiny details. I completely trust her to pick the best in season, and the most ideally suited stems for my needs - even with the briefest of briefs!

Jo provided me with dahlias for one of my October weddings, where the Bride's favourite flower was a Cafe au Lait Dahlia. The size of the heads and the quality of the flowers were incredible. As a wedding florist, it's so important for the flowers to be perfect and Jo's dahlias really were! I look forward to working more with Jo throughout the British flower season, and use more of her beautiful flowers in my arrangements.
